Cheers To Us! A Special Drink For A Special Occasion

S_and_N

With Valentine’s Day approaching, we thought you may like some Create Some Happy inspired ideas to make your day a little more special. We’d like to share with you our signature cocktail, the S+N….

The S+N, or “Scott and Nina,” came to be a few years ago when we decided that we wanted to create a special drink for our wedding. We thought about the types of flavours we enjoyed (as well as the alcohol), and we thought about a splash of colour. The result was a combination of pink lemonade, cranberry juice, gingerale, and vodka. As an added touch, when we sent out our thank you cards for wedding gifts received, we included a copy of the recipe for the drink. We are pleased to discover, years later, that those recipes still exist with friends and family. One of them even has the recipe on their fridge.

The drink is simple to make. Choose your size of glass and add some ice cubes. For an 8 oz glass, we used two large ice cubes.

Add 1 oz of vodka. Yes, you can add more if you’re using a larger glass or just prefer more vodka.

Next, add equal parts of lemonade, cranberry juice and gingerale. How can you do this easily? I use the counting method. While pouring in the lemonade, I do a quick count of 1…2…3… I then do the same count for adding the cranberry juice… and then same count for adding in the gingerale. Stir. Enjoy.

This is a refreshing drink and a tasty one. It can be made as per the recipe, or you can leave out the alcohol and make it a fun drink for your young guests or non-drinking friends. If you’d like a different taste, substitute rum for the vodka. Either way, this drink comes out a lovely, romantic pinky/red colour.. perfect for Valentine’s Day! If you’d like to make it extra special, mix it up in some fancy glasses. Cheers!
